Updated at 5.09pm: Hong Kong couples are having sex far more often than they were two years ago, according to figures released on Tuesday showing that the economic recovery has put the spark back into locals' love-lives.
SAR people, long considered to be among the world's worst lovers, are clawing their way up the sexual league table as their attention turns from the boardroom to the bedroom.
They now have sex an average of once every 4.3 days, a 50 per cent jump from when they were last quizzed and reported a dismal performance of just once every 6.4 days.
''One of the reasons is that the Hong Kong economy has been much better and people feel much more relaxed. I think if you feel more relaxed, then you can spend more time doing other things,'' said Eleanor Mok Wai-ting, general manager of Durex condom-maker SSL Healthcare Hong Kong.
Durex surveyed 18,000 people in 27 countries for this year's annual survey on sexual behaviour.
