To be good at English we must be proficient in reading, writing, listening and speaking. We can master these skills by reading the newspapers and listening to the radio. Try to read newspapers, such as the South China Morning Post and make a note of new vocabulary and useful expressions.
To improve your oral English, choose a few interesting passages from the newspaper and read aloud.
Try tuning into an English channel on the radio. Record the news headlines, then transcribe the tape. Check the spelling of difficult words.
Chatting to foreigners will also improve your English. Try approaching tourists in Tsim Sha Tsui or Central and ask them if they would like to talk for 10 minutes. Most of them are friendly and willing to talk.
Learning English should not be boring. Get started now and see how much fun you can have.
