The 23rd Islands District Athletic Meet will be held at Wan Chai Sports Ground on November 12. There will be 16 track, field and relay races in the meet, which provides an excellent opportunity for gaining experience in competitions.
Enrolment is free. There will be champion, first runner-up and second runner-up for individuals. To encourage participation by schools in the Islands District, there will be gold, silver and bronze medals for schools with outstanding performance.
Application forms are available at Islands District Leisure Services Office, the Islands District Office and the Islands District Rural Committee. The deadline for application is October 28. For inquiries, call 2852-3220.
Percussionist Lung Heung- wing and young pianist Andrea Lam will perform with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of guest conductor Yip Wing-sie to give audiences lots of fun. 'Orchestral Fun' will be held at 8 pm next Friday at Kwai Tsing Theatre Auditorium and October 28 at Sha Tin Town Hall Auditorium.
