A woman told a court yesterday how an anaesthetist touched her body twice in a hospital room soon after she gave birth, in acts described as 'medically unacceptable'.
The woman, a Japanese citizen living in the SAR, said Cheung Kai-shuen, 44, entered her private room at the Adventist Hospital on May 20, 1995, a day after she gave birth.
She said Cheung touched her thigh 'as if he was checking my numbness' and touched her in the groin area.
He returned the following day and asked if she would be breast-feeding her baby, before groping her breasts, Western Court heard.
'He asked me to show him my breasts. I was hesitant, but as he was hurrying me, I opened my gown,' the woman said.
Prosecutor Nigel Bedford said Cheung's actions with the woman were 'medically unacceptable', citing the opinion of a medical expert given in a letter submitted to the court.
