A 12-year-old schoolgirl was raped in her Yau Ma Tei flat yesterday when she disturbed a robber.
The pupil was attacked when she returned early from school to her fifth-floor flat in Portland Street at about 10.30am.
'When the girl opened the door, she discovered a man inside her flat. The man used a knife to threaten her and then she was tied up and blindfolded,' a police spokesman said.
'She was pushed into a bedroom and then told to stay under a bed while the man ransacked the unit. He raped her before fleeing with valuables.'
Police were called to the flat when her mother returned at about 11.30am. The girl was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital.
Officers found no trace of the rapist, who was said to be 1.5 metres tall, fat and aged about 30.
