As the fund manager of Hong Kong's Tracker Fund, which boasts a colossal worth of HK$33.33 billion and the investments of hundreds of thousands of SAR residents, Justin Pascoe is fully aware of his responsibilities.
'Whenever there are a number of people in a room, there is a good opportunity that someone owns the Tracker Fund,' he said.
Mr Pascoe, director of Investments at State Street Global Advisers - the company the Government charged with the task of looking after the Tracker Fund, said he sometimes woke up in the night thinking of the duty of managing 188,000 people's investments.
That was the number of people who bought into the fund's initial public offering last November.
The pressure, he said, was the main reason he decided to take part in Trailwalker 2000 on November 10. The charity event sees participants in teams of four walk or run 100 kilometres of hilly terrain in the New Territories.
He could not join in last year - it was the first trading day of the Tracker Fund.
