Japanese music producer Tetsuya Komuro has developed an Internet site (rojam.com) with a 'click audition' feature to find musical talent.
The click audition, the site's most popular feature, allows budding artists from around Asia to introduce themselves to fans. Fans can then vote for their favourites and the ones with most support will receive professional training for a singing career.
The same online system will be used to recruit potential producers who will be trained to join rojam's production team.
People who are interested in an audition are invited to send in their pictures. Those who get high scores will appear in a photo album to be released by ROJAM.
After taking part in an audition, Hong Kong teenagers Celina and Zoie won a chance to release their album during the summer. They received training and the opportunity to perform with pop diva Amuro Namie in Japan.
Komuro said: 'We will continue to invite young people in Asia to participate in the process of picking their favourite stars through the audition system.'
