It was a big day for the Get A Life Club.

Yesterday they went on an outing to the Wan Chai Immigration Tower, where the Commissioner for Transport was hosting the afternoon's festivities.

Guests were treated to a rare glimpse of representatives from no less than five bus companies. All had converged to witness the big prize presentation ceremony.

And the competition?

'Your Favourite Bus-Bus Interchange Logo Election and Slogan Contest.'

Amazingly, more than 500 people submitted their suggestions. And another 650 actually voted for their favourite.

Anyway, this marked the culmination of a campaign launched in early-September to promote the Bus-Bus Interchange schemes.

Apparently GALC members have been furrowing their brows trying to choose between slogans like: 'Bus-Bus Interchange: Wheel Get You There', 'One Bus Leads To Another' and 'Bus-Bus Interchange: A Symphony of Buses Working In Concert'.

Two lucky grand prize winners received three-month bus passes, while another 60 'special prize winners' received lesser rewards - presumably return coach tickets to Kowloon Tong.

Lai See  called the Transport Department to find out the winning slogan.

Here it is: 'Transferring from One Bus To Another Is Convenient, Economical and Environmental'.

The spokesman assures it sounds a lot catchier in Chinese.

Anyway, Lai See  hears the winner had help coming up with that slogan.

Apparently there were coaches involved.

Keeping abreast: We've been watching the latest offerings on the Airport Express' 'in flight' entertainment.

The last time we tuned in, they were greeting visitors with the British royal family's most embarrassing moments (a montage of tumbling queens and nose-picking princesses). After the royal blunders came footage of babes in bikinis.

Lai See  recently heard that the programme had been changed, so she was curious to see what replaced it.

A rather male-dominated show, it at first appeared.

Our journey to the airport began with a series of sporting boobs, as various male athletes were shown falling about and generally disgracing themselves publicly. Women, it seemed, were under-represented.

But then the blunders stopped and passengers found themselves staring at well-endowed females parading about wearing . . . not a lot really.

It appeared the beach babes were back by popular demand. Once again, the briefest of bikinis kept nudity at bay.

Oh well. At least the gender balance was restored.

It was an even split between men's sporting boobs, and women sporting boobs.

Hot item: We see Diners Club has a new offer. Members can now get their hands on 'the most exclusive innovative products in town at the best values'.

On offer is a Sharp contemporary microwave oven.

Apparently it's so 'fashionably coloured', cube-shaped and pretty that it doubles as a decorative item, suitable for any room in the home.

And the price of this ornamental cooker?

Depends how many Diners Club points you want to use.

You can get it for 600,000 points if you're willing to pay HK$298 on top of that.

Alternatively, you can opt for 'Solely point redemption'. With this, you get the exact same oven for no money . . . and 90,000 points. We tried to work out the logic behind that one, but gave up.

It seemed a bit pointless.
