HK passenger feared dead
A Hong Kong woman and her Singaporean husband were confirmed yesterday to be among the unaccounted for passengers feared dead.
The couple are Jennifer Loo Tak-wing, 27, and Dr Sung Kah Kay, 35. The Hong Kong-based parents of Ms Loo - a permanent Hong Kong identity card and British National (Overseas) passport-holder - did not know their daughter was on the plane until they were told by the SAR Government yesterday.
It is understood that Singapore Airlines has contacted Dr Sung's family in Singapore. Ms Loo's father was on his way to Taipei last night.
Ms Loo and Dr Sung were on the list of passengers 'unaccounted for', with the airline saying the identification process of the dead was underway.
British consular officials here have been in touch with Ms Loo's relatives and were helping them with plans to travel to Taipei. The couple were on their way from Singapore for a five-day trip to Los Angeles, where Dr Sung was to address a computer conference.
The pair, who were married last year, had no children. They are understood to have moved to Singapore about two months ago.
