Sino Land to build hotel brand name on Singapore flagship
Sino Land plans to open its flagship hotel project - Fullerton Hotel in Singapore - early next month.
Executive director Ambrose Cheung said yesterday although Sino Land held the Conrad International in Admiralty, the hotel was not managed by Sino's hotel team.
As a result the six-star Fullerton, managed by Sino, would play an important role in establishing the group's brand name. The hotel is in the heart of Singapore's central business district and by the Singapore River.
Mr Cheung said the development cost of the 400-room hotel was S$400 million (about HK$1.8 billion).
The official opening had been arranged to take place the night of December 31 and would last until the next day.
Mr Cheung said that while both Sino Land and Sino Hotels, the locally listed hotel arm of Sino Group, were involved in hotel investments, the group would continuously review its corporate structure in response to market demand as well as to stream existing businesses.
