Miss Hongkong finalist admits to being girl in nude photos
A MISS Hongkong finalist, whose nude pictures caused the withdrawal this week of a popular magazine, had agreed to pose to help a photographer practise, it was revealed yesterday.
Documents supporting an injunction against the distribution of Eastweek magazine, which printed seven nude pictures of Teresa Mak Ka-ki, claimed that she was not paid for the pictures.
The affidavits said a man introduced to Miss Mak two years ago by a friend asked if she would pose as a model for him to practise his photographic skills.
She agreed and the photographer took three rolls of film, some with her clothes on and others without.
Miss Mak said the photographer had returned all the negatives to her later, which she had destroyed by cutting them into pieces.
Her family knew nothing about it until one of the pictures appeared in the Oriental Daily News on Monday.
The 17-year-old student's father, Mak Hau-shing, approached the photographer after seeing the picture in the newspaper and bought the copyright on all 108 pictures for one dollar, according to an affidavit.
