Rain failed to wash out St Teresa Secondary School's athletic championships. Despite frequent showers the annual sports day went ahead at Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground.

Students cheered and supported their respective houses. St Rose House won the overall championship, while St Anne House picked up the best cheering team award.

The guest-of-honour was former student Lam Yuk-hing. She congratulated the athletes on their success and encouraged them to work hard.

She said it was important to persevere and she used herself as an example.

She said in Form Four her maths results were not very good, but she did not give up. Determined to do well, she worked hard and eventually gradu ated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a first class honours in accounting.
