The industries should enhance productivity and provide quality services.
These are the attributes of companies in the service sector that the Hong Kong Awards for Services aim to commend.
As the chairman of the central judging panel of the 2000 Hong Kong Awards for Services, I am encouraged by the record number of entrants this year, their diversified nature and their quality services.
This is proof that more and more companies in the service sector are aware of the importance of innovation, productivity and quality services in maintaining Hong Kong's position as a regional service centre.
This also indicates that these companies are striving to achieve excellence in all these service aspects.
