Emerald House athletes shine as they clinch champion title

Adverse weather was no bar to Pui Shing Catholic Secondary School's 30th sports meet.

More than 628 students took part in the 95 events. After two days of competitive events, Emerald House clinched the overall championship.

Six outstanding athletes were selected. Among them was Lam Chung-mui of Emerald House. She grabbed the championships in three girls' Grade A events - the 100 metres sprint, long jump and 100 m hurdle.

The guests were entertained by the enlivening performances prepared by cheerleaders of the four houses.

A cheering contest was also held. The title went to Sapphire House.

Guest-of-honour Sister Michelle Reynolds, manager of the school's management body, urged all athletes to put more effort into their sports activities and urged those who failed to win a medal not to give up.

Principal Thomas Chiu thanked both the staff and students for their dedication which was the key to success for the important event.
