KEEP an eye out for Derek Cruz who has some interesting runners entered this afternoon - none more so than Light Sensation in the seventh event.
Given the way he has picked up in his last two runs, he should go very close in the Flyaway Cup.
Light Sensation contested this same event last season and although up with the pace throughout just ran out of steam in the last 200 metres behind Valiant Lancer.
The grey was not suited by the tactics that day and is better when held up for a late surge, as was proved last start when he finished full of running to take a close-up third spot behind Jollity and True Bonanza.
That was over a mile and he now steps up to 2,000 meres, but he did win in his native New Zealand over the trip prior to coming here, so there can be no reservations about him seeing out the distance.
For a horse that was racing in Class Two last season he looks extremely well treated with 116lb at the bottom of the handicap in this event for Class Two and Three performers.
