C P POKPHAND announced plans to become the first Hongkong listed company to successfully list a mainland joint-venture on the New York stock exchange in a flotation valued at $675.49 million.

The yuan plunged 1.5 per cent on Monday against the US dollar on the Shanghai foreign exchange swap market during heavy trading.

The $735 million flotation of Shangri-La Asia, the Hongkong and China hotel arm of the Shangri-La group, has been oversubscribed.
