Greenpeace campaigns against incineration plant

Greenpeace yesterday launched an online campaign to oppose construction of an incineration plant in Lung Kwu Tang.

The campaign is a part of a global drive for a ban on toxic chemicals. Campaigner Clement Lam Hau-kin said he expected most Lung Kwu Tang residents would back the campaign. Mr Lam said incineration would generate dioxin, a chemical that he said could lead to hormone imbalance and cancer.
