Preposterous

Last month, I bought two designer neckties from Sincere in Causeway Bay, one of them was the latest 'Armani Collezioni', for which I happily paid $690.

After I had worn it once, I noticed a couple of threads appearing on the pattern. On the second and third occasion, more threads appeared. Long threads were protruding from the tie. When I buy a product of a famous couturier, I expect good quality, well-designed fabric that will last. This tie was losing shape.

I took it back to Sincere to exchange it or be given credit. I presented the tie along with my receipt and explained the problem to the lady at customer service.

The lady spoke to the manager and then returned and told me he would not change the tie, because it was a new line when I purchased it.

I have not heard of anything so preposterous before from a retail store. Your readers will surely be interested to know that this is the policy of Sincere.

I would be interested to have an explanation from Sincere, or from the Consumer Council.
