WHEN LOIS JACOBS started out as a disc jockey in southern Italy she was known as Lola Di Londra. These days she is known as the executive vice-president and regional director, Europe and Asia-Pacific, for Jack Morton Worldwide.

It is, in her own words, a fabulous job. 'What we do is to help organisations communicate their messages. We create experiences which we hope will inspire,' she says.

'We employ designers, choreographers, stage managers, writers and casting directors who are all dedicated to our specialised delivery media.'

After her stint in Italy, Ms Jacobs moved into advertising. She was managing a men's retail account in her native London when she attended a car launch which changed her life.

'I saw this piece of what we used to call industrial theatre,' she says. 'It was business but it was theatre. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen and I had to get into the business.'

And that is how a childhood interest in the performing arts turned into a ground-breaking career. By all accounts, Ms Jacobs has had a stellar rise.
