Airliner attacked
Hongkong (December 9): A Hongkong Airways plane was fired on by a Nationalist gunboat about 50 miles north-east of Hongkong and 20 miles off the coast yesterday. The plane, which was flying from Taipeh, was not hit and landed safely at Kai Tak.
It was learned from one of the passengers that the warship first fired smoke shells and later live rounds. The warship appeared to be laying mines and apparently did not want anyone to see it.
Agency makes travel plans
Barcelona: A Barcelona travel agency has disclosed that 459 persons have booked passage for its first interplanetary trip, tentatively set for 1974.
The would-be passengers are for the most part youths of both sexes between 16 and 20.
The agency, which began making the reservations six months ago, said those booked would shortly be called in for their first physical examination.
