Sun Hung Kai Properties' (SHKP) sale of remaining units at some of its developments has slowed after it raised prices by 3 per cent yesterday, according to property agents.

Agents said it was quiet at a number of SHKP sales offices as potential buyers were unlikely to make a move immediately after the increase.

They said buyers needed to study the new prices first, adding a clearer picture would be seen this weekend.

Crystal Tam Kwai-ching, senior district manager of Centaline Property Agency's Tseung Kwan O branch, said she expected the rise to weaken sales.

However, Ms Tam said SHKP's announcement two weeks ago of planned price rises from yesterday led to a number of buys before the deadline.

Agents believed SHKP sold about 40 units at various projects over the weekend. This should be considered positive as the sales response at those projects had been lacklustre, they said.
