Manchester United  star David Beckham matched his Spice Girls wife's achievements last month by soaring to number one  on the book charts.

His newly-released autobiography, My World, topped the Sunday Times  non-fiction list. Thousands of people queued up at bookstores to buy the heart- throb's latest publication.

In Hong Kong, sales figures for My World are rocketing.

Beckham's full name is David Robert Joseph Beckham. He was born on May 2, 1975 in Leytonstone, London.
