The path from Shelter Cove village to Ma Lam Wat is a place of great beauty. It wends its way through woodland and gives magnificent views of Hebe Haven, Sai Kung and the massif of Ma On Shan. Here, one can reflect and seek peace and relief from a hectic lifestyle. Unfortunately, one cannot appreciate the view, because of the disgusting condition of the path surface. The area has been turned into a popular doggy toilet. Dog owners from the village adjacent to the Hong Kong Yacht Club at Shelter Cove, use the path as a litter tray with a view. A lapse in concentration means a shoe-cleaning session. If the dog owners would get their act together we would all be a lot happier. JOHN BRENNAN Fo Tan
