PAGING operator ABC Communications (Holdings) has reported a 29.6 per cent rise in profit to $77.76 million for the year to March 31.

  Turnover rose 12.7 per cent to $262.65 million from $232.97 million.

  Earnings per share rose to 19.4 cents from 17.4 cents previously. The company will pay a final dividend of seven cents a share.

  In a statement, chairman George Ho said the group had increased to eight per cent its stake in Matrix Telecommunications, and acquired a 21.2 per cent interest in EasyCall Philippines during the year.
