Legislators approved funding to establish eight posts in the Government to pave the way for a Women's Commission, due to be set up next month. There will be two directorate officials, with monthly salaries of $127,900 and $116,650, in the Health and Welfare Bureau and six non-directorate posts, with a total average annual salary of $3.56 million. The commission will advise the Government on women's policies, conduct research on women's issues and liaise with women's groups.
