Club ing's Bond party - Spies and Lies - is $260 for women and $360 for men and includes a couple of drinks (tel: 2836 3690/2824 0523). A live band in the front bar promises jazzy numbers and R&B tunes in 'Dr No's nuclear missile silo' - aka the main bar - will take you through to 2001.

Post 97 is taking a laid-back approach to New Year's Eve with a poolside party planned - in the restaurant. An inflatable baby pool will be filled with plastic bubbles and set up in the dining area. Those in swimwear need not worry about being under-dressed - the club's theme is Baywatch. The four-course dinner is $997 per person and includes a glass of bubbly and entry into the club (tel: 2186 1817).

JJ's is set for Hong Kong's biggest ever toga party - The Odyssey of Gods. The club promises a mythological journey through the Roman Empire and various gods and deities will be on hand to fuel the fun. Tickets are $1,800 per person, including a dinner buffet, unlimited champagne and drinks and breakfast. Entry after 10pm (no dinner) is $1,200 (tel: 2588 1234).
