Updated at 4.50pm: Confusion reigned among both commuters and bus drivers on the first work day since the implementation of new traffic relief measures in Admiralty.
Many have complained that the new arrangements, effective since Boxing Day, would only serve to worsen traffic congestion in the area.
Under the new arrangements, buses will now enter the Admiralty MTR Station (East) Bus Terminus via Tamar Street and exit from Rodney Street. A total of 17 Hong Kong Island and two cross-harbour bus routes are affected.
Before, eastbound buses on Queensway entered the terminus via Rodney Street for picking up or setting down of passengers and then re-entered Queensway via Drake Street and Tamar Street.
The Transport Department said it was premature to judge what effect the new arrangements would have.
