Phase III of the Central and Western Heritage Trail - the Western District and the Peak Route - is now open. The trail links up historic buildings and sites in the two districts. Officiating at the opening ceremony, Secretary for Home Affairs Lam Woon-kwong said the Government devoted great efforts to preserving the historic buildings. He said the establishment of the Central and Western Heritage Trail was an effective way to introduce Hong Kong's history to the public and tourists. Leisure and Cultural Services director Paul Leung Sai-wah said the trail was made up of three routes: the Central route; the Sheung Wan Route; and the Western District and the Peak Route.
