Stars have made their wishes for the New Year. Cecelia Cheung Pak-chi wished for magic fat-free ice- cream which would never run out and could change flavours. Louis Koo Tin-lok wished to have enough money to buy a bigger flat so that he could live with his parents. Miriam Yeung Chin-wah wished to fulfil her childhood dream of becoming Miss Hong Kong.

Dodo Cheng Yu-ling lost a $150,000 watch after the last performance of the stage show War of the Genders. Cheng said she had left the watch in the dressing room for staff to take care of, as usual, while she was on stage. But for the last show, everyone, including backstage staff, were out for the curtain call.

When she came back, the watch was gone.

The drama War of the Genders was a big accomplishment for Dayo Wong Chi-wah in 2000. This year, Wong would launch his own CD next month and direct a comedy movie.

The image consultancy Starz, owned by Charlie Young Choi-nei and her Malaysian boyfriend, launched a Web site Starzimage.com with the Skynet Group at New Century Plaza.

Asked when she would marry and have children, Young said she had not set a time frame and would not think about the problem before marriage.

Former Miss Asia Weng Hong announced her engagement to her Japanese fiance in Taipei. Weng shed tears of joy at the ceremony.

Weng was dressed as an angel and wore a pair of wings on her back. She said the image was designed by her fiance because he saw her as his angel.
