Virus strikes again

Singapore: Authorities are appealing for families to isolate sick youngsters after they confirmed that hand, foot and mouth disease has reappeared in the city-state, Jake Lloyd-Smith reports. An autopsy of a young boy who died in Singapore on Wednesday revealed that, after a trip to neighbouring Malaysia, he contracted enterovirus 71, one of the several viruses associated with the disease.
