Former Xinhua head dies aged 89

Former Xinhua director Li Jusheng, who took part in the negotiations with the British Government on Hong Kong in the 1980s, died last month at the age of 89.

According to a Xinhua report yesterday, Mr Li died on December 26 in Beijing. He had served as both deputy director and director in the local Xinhua, renamed Beijing's Liaison Office after the handover.
