Clubber's Guide To 2001
Mixed by Tall Paul
(Ministry of Sound)
British DJ Tall Paul Newman and London's Ministry of Sound join forces again in this double-CD compilation of dance tunes that have British clubbers stomping. For purists, the two names may spell commercialism but for the masses, they generally mean a long, smiley session on the dance floor.
Anthem-laden, this effort works as a house/trance journey of popular tracks and familiar artists - the likes of Fatboy Slim with twisted house track Star 69 and Timo Maas' remix of Sourmash's Pilgrimage To Paradise - and tracks currently climbing the British charts such as Rui Da Silva's Touch Me.
Kicking off with uplifting beats, the floor-filling Tall Paul blends happy house and funky grooves and, as disc one progresses, layers the sounds deeper until, on disc two, we get to an all together different feel - twisted progressive house/trance.
