Alliance aims to build strong IT connections

Jones Lang LaSalle and BroadbandAccess (BBA) have formed an alliance to offer broadband connectivity and information technology (IT) services to building owners and tenants.

The services will be offered to owners and occupiers of Jones Lang LaSalles' portfolio of key commercial buildings across Asia-Pacific.

The alliance allows both parties to explore business opportunities in telecommunications and IT.

Apart from exploring joint investments in Asia-Pacific, the venture will share domain knowledge to understand the practices and laws of commercial building and telecoms industries.

BBA will be able to deliver the services to more than 1.5 million square feet of office space by the end of the second quarter. It aims to have the service in 20 buildings in Singapore this year.

'We hope our partnership with BBA will allow clients to enjoy high quality broadband products and services at lower prices than what's available on the market,' said Yu Lai Boon, chief innovative strategist of Jones Lang LaSalle.

'The alliance demonstrates that tenants are demanding not only high-speed access, but content and value-added business-to-business e-commerce solutions as well,' said Calum Chan, chief executive of BBA.
