Hui appointed ambassador for charity
Andy Hui Chi-on was appointed an ambassador of this year's World Vision Famine 30 event.
He will visit Cambodia with Commercial Radio DJs later this month to learn about conditions there. They will visit a local hospital and meet children with Aids. It will be Hui's first visit to the country.
He said he was looking forward to the trip and wanted to write a song afterwards to raise public awareness of Third World issues.
One of Chan Suk-lan's wishes for the Year of the Snake was to not be so loud.
She said she knew some people found her personality hard to accept. One of her friends even said she was crazy, which she found hurtful. Her relationship with her boyfriend also suffered because he could not toler ate her loud personality. Chan was also accused of over-acting in a TV drama.
Teen idol Edison Chen Koon-hei has accepted Alan Tam Wing-lun's criticism about his behaviour as a special guest of the Miss Chinese International show. Tam said Chen did not stand straight or look at the audience which gave the impression that he was impolite and disrespected the show.
Chen has promised to spend more time at rehearsals and do better next time.
ATV's production Tempting Heart still has a few more weeks to run. Although producer Tang Dak-hei did not expect to beat TVB, he hoped that the show would get good ratings.
He said it was pointless to compare ATV with TVB because the two stations were different in size and scale. However, he had high expectations of the drama series because the cast was professional and the story was good.
Esther Kwan Wing-ho and Michael To Dai-yu, who have worked together before at TVB, are now starring in ATV's Tempting Heart.
Kwan said they had a hard time when they shot the drama in Thailand. Apart from the heat, they spent four hours a day travelling to the location. The facilities at the hotel were also poor. But Kwan said the whole team were still in high spirits because they had high expectations of the ratings.
