'It must be pointed out that Hong Kong SAR affairs are the internal matters of China,' a spokesman for Beijing's Liaison Office said. 'We are firmly opposed to any foreign government and its officials interfering in China's internal affairs by making use of the Falun Gong issue.'
Someone should politely point out to Beijing's Liaison Office and its director, Jiang Enzhu, that most people in Hong Kong are 'firmly opposed' to any Chinese officials interfering in the internal affairs of the Hong Kong SAR, which these officials seem to be doing increasingly.
If foreign delegations and human rights observers can be seen as 'meddling' and 'interfering' in the affairs of Hong Kong, then so can officials of Beijing's Liaison Office here. Hypocrisy was never better illustrated.
