A MAN slashed his neck in the car park of ATV yesterday in an apparent protest against the television station's refusal to broadcast a personal letter. Wong Man-lee, 21, was persuaded by his elder brother to hand over a 45-centimetre knife at the station's Broadcast Drive compound after 30 minutes. He was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in fair condition. ATV's assistant chief executive officer Kwong Hoi-ying said Mr Wong went to the station on Thursday hoping the station would broadcast his letter. ''We told him our main role was to provide entertainment,'' Mr Kwong said. Also yesterday, an emotionally disturbed man was taken to hospital after he locked himself in a toilet with a liquefied petroleum gas container. Man Wai-keung, 24, went to his mother-in-law's home in South Wall Road, Kowloon City, to look for his estranged wife. He became upset when he was told his wife had moved to a shelter for battered wives.
