900 evacuated after school acts on bomb threat

About 900 students and teachers were evacuated from a Tuen Mun primary school after a suspicious package bearing threatening slogans was found inside a toilet.

Police were called to the Po Leung Kuk Fong Wong Kam Chuen Primary School in Leung King Estate at 8am when cleaning staff spotted the A4-envelope. A threatening call was also made to the school, but Tuen Mun police refused to give details. Students and teachers were evacuated and bomb disposal officers retrieved the envelope, which contained a plastic box with metal bars and electrical wires, but no explosives.
