The Peninsula is holding a special wine dinner on February 26, featuring the award-winning wines from the vineyards of JJ Prum in Germany. Rieslings from Wehlener Sonnenuhr and Graacher Himmelreich will be paired with an eight-course Chinese banquet in the hotel's Salisbury Room. The menu includes Chinese canapes with the 98 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett, baked fillet of garoupa filled with shredded Yunnan ham and celery, served with the 95 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spatlese, and deep-fried pork balls with crispy noodles, paired with 93 Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese. Hosting the dinner are Katherina Prum, daughter of the the current owner and director of the JJ Prum Vineyard and Wilhelm Steifensand, president of PJ Valckenberg, which is one of Germany's leading family owned wine growers and merchants. Grissini at the Grand Hyatt is serving authentic desserts from Sicily, as Massimiliano Fauci, owner of Piazza Magione in Palermo, and his pastry chef Michele Attinelli pay a visit to present their specialities. The selection of 11 desserts is available in Grissini until March 10, and after that, some of them will be incorporated into the dessert buffet in the Tiffin Lounge and at the hotel's retail bakery, the Chocolatier. Madison's in Pacific Place has started serving a set-lunch special from Monday to Friday. The menu changes daily, but might include a choice for appetiser of soup of the day or smoked salmon on blinis with caviar cream, a main course of char-grilled rib-eye steak with onion potato and Bordelaise sauce or sole fillet menuiere on sauteed sweetpea leaves, and for dessert, dark chocolate mousse.
