The value of re-exports of goods rose 1.8 per cent in January over a year earlier to HK$108.7 billion while the value of domestic exports of goods fell 16.7 per cent to HK$12.7 billion. The Census and Statistics Department said yesterday the re-export increases were to Japan (15.4 per cent), the Netherlands (14.9 per cent), Britain (9.7 per cent) and the United States (5.9 per cent). The decreases were to Taiwan (17.9 per cent), the mainland (6.1 per cent) and South Korea (4.5 per cent).
