Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa are to increase the number of flights between the island state and Frankfurt as well as introduce a Singapore-Munich service three days a week. Singapore Airlines' Frankfurt-Singapore flights will increase from 11 to 14 flights a week, taking off twice daily from July, in addition to the daily service by Lufthansa.

Online tie-up

Travelocity.com is to integrate Hotel Reservations Network's (HRN's) discount fares into its travel site and will provide vacation rental units through HRN's Condosaver.com. HRN will offer Travelocity's air and car rental products through www.hoteldiscount.com and www.180096hotel.com.

Haneda crush eased

Good news for those travelling to Japan. Tokyo's Haneda airport will from today allow simultaneous landings using two parallel runways to help reduce rush-hour delays and the perpetual problem of congestion.

JetBlue stars

JetBlue Airways, a New York-based low-fare carrier, has been voted the United States' No 2 economy airline in its first year of operation. In the Zagat Airline Survey of more than 30,000 passengers, JetBlue outscored all the major airlines and ranked second in the service and comfort categories.
