One Snowy Night tells the story of five survivors of a plane crash in a rugged snow-capped mountain. Samurai Cellular is a comedy in which samurai Oishi picks up a mobile phone on the road and it changes his life. In Chess, an ex-world champion chess player is summoned to a game where the chess pieces are real human beings. Finally, in The Marriage Simulator, a computer gives a couple a test run before they say 'I do'.
Simple but thought-provoking plots, fancy camera work and editing bring these tales alive. And with talent like TV director Masayuki Suzuki (Long Vacation) and stars such as Love Letter's heart-throb Takashi Kashiwabara on show, Tales Of The Unusual is not to be missed.
