THE Society of Hongkong Publishers (SHP) and SRG Research Services will hold a one day seminar titled Advertising - The Shape of Things to Come at the Grand Hyatt on September 15. Morning sessions include: Message From the Future, a brief overview of how the media scene may look in the year 2010; How Do We Measure It If It Won't Stand Still?, a presentation by SRG dealing with the constant changes in media and research; Inside Track, innovations made by publishers in the world's major markets and what should be done to move publishing into the electronic age; and The Pitch, three of Hongkong's leading advertising agencies pitch for a fictitious account, explaining the strategies, logic and method of media selection involved. Afternoon sessions include: A Publisher's View, how a sales team in the future will pitch for an account and what you can expect a publisher to be offering agencies and advertisers in the years to come; China - Land of Opportunity? opportunities and pitfalls existing in the world's biggest emerging market; and The Hongkong Advertising Industry Challenge, where clients, agencies and media owners pit their wits in a fast-paced wrap-up session.
