A runaway lorry killed a man and injured the woman he was walking with last night. Ling Hung, 51, was certified dead on arrival at Caritas Medical Centre. The woman, Chow Suk-yee, 38, was in stable condition last night. They had been walking outside North Kowloon Court in Tai Po Road. The lorry driver, 31, and his passenger Ho Wai-keung, 58, were trapped in the badly damaged cabin. They were taken to the same hospital. Mr Ho was in serious condition last night, while the driver was later placed under arrest for alleged drink-driving. He was allowed $10,000 bail with a $10,000 surety. The Kowloon-bound lorry was travelling down a slope in Tai Po Road at about 6pm when the driver lost control. It scraped along railings, knocked down a signboard and crashed into a stationary lorry.
