A special camp offering musical youngsters the chance to learn from renowned and overseas musicians takes place this summer. The 2001 Hong Kong Youth Music Camp will be held from July 22 to August 5 at Tso Kung Tam Outdoor Recreation Centre. Completed application forms should be submitted by April 20 for the residential camp or by June 18 for the day camp. Campers will participate in one of the intensive training programmes in orchestra, band or chorus as well as take part in a balanced programme of musical and recreational activities designed for relaxation and development of musical skills. These include music appreciation sessions, concerts and an instrumental karaoke contest. Internationally renowned musicians taking part in the camp include Yeh Tsung, music director of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the US South Bend Symphony Orchestra. The camp fee is $275 for four days, three nights and $545 for seven days, six nights per head. Application forms and leaflets are available at all Music Centres.
