At least 19 injured after bus hits tram

Updated at 10.58am: At least 19 people were injured when a bus smashed into a tram in the Western district on Tuesday morning, police said.

Around 9.12am a tram heading for Kennedy Town was derailed near Sai Cheung Street after being hit by a north-bound New Bus.

Police said 12 men and seven women were injured, including the tram and bus drivers.

''Some passers-by were injured by flying pieces of glass when the windows smashed,'' a spokesman said.

The injured were rushed to Queen Mary Hospital.
