China's dominant personal computer manufacturer, Legend Holdings, has appointed Yang Yuanqing as president and chief executive, paving the way for chairman Liu Chuanzhi to retire. Mr Yang was senior vice-president of Legend in charge of its core PC manufacturing business. He takes over Mr Liu's chief executive role, overseeing Legend PC and Internet access devices, Internet services and the motherboard businesses. Mr Liu, a Legend founder, remains as chairman and will perform an advisory and strategic consulting role.
