Bosses at the Sports Development Board are overpaid by up to 26 per cent, according to the auditor. Forty-three of the board's most highly paid staff are given cash allowances equivalent to 45 to 60 per cent of their monthly pay. The allowances range from $79,806 to $102,540 at the top end, and $12,420 to $30,510 at the bottom. The auditor said the board's chief executive and senior staff had been overpaid by 11 to 26 per cent compared to their counterparts in the civil service. In his reply to the Audit Commission, Secretary for Home Affairs Lam Woon-kwong promised regular reviews to ensure staff were not overpaid.
