Wheat-growing a fun lesson

Our teacher thought we should learn about Canadian culture and wheat. Also, because we had never planted anything before, he wanted us to see something grow. David Nadeau taught us how to plant, how to ask questions in different ways and with different words, how to conduct an interview, how to use a computer to write a story and, how great God is (because He created everything).

He also taught us many English vocabulary used in farming.

Mr Nadeau brought in some farm soil and we mixed it with our hands and put it in flower pots. It was the first time any of us had touched soil from Canada. Each of us planted about six kernels of wheat in our flower pots.

Even though we worked hard and had to do many little tasks, we enjoyed the new experience.

During the first few days, we waited impatiently and were so excited when the wheat started to sprout.

The plants were kept in an empty classroom and we watered them every day.
