Employers should be made to take out extra insurance on staff who need to work outside Hong Kong, the Neighbourhood and Workers Service Centre said. The call came after its representatives met labour officials to discuss helping the family of a 21-year-old technician, Lee Wai-ming, who was murdered during a business trip to the mainland city of Shantou last month. The centre said Lee's relatives were worried they would only receive the statutory compensation of $750,000.
