Travelling circus brings first panda to Macau

The first panda to visit Macau arrived on an eight-day visit yesterday. Ying Ying, owned by a circus from Hubei province, arrived by road. The 16-year-old male panda will not perform during his stay but has been taught many tricks by his keepers.

Ying Ying will be on public display in an air-conditioned enclosure at the Macau International Trade City, where the circus started a week-long programme of daily acrobatic shows on Saturday. People with tickets to see the acrobatic shows will be given priority to view Ying Ying. The panda returns to the mainland on May 20.
